THe crawl was found by Linda Nelson on zone 3 about 50 yards south of the vehicle entrance. Judy Morr found the nest and, with the help of Linda and visitors Emma & Mason Smelamb, moved the nest to higher ground 10 yards south of the vehicle entrance.
Nest #49 & First Hatchling of 2016
The crawl for nest #49 was spotted by Veronica L'Allier, Bob Mason & Kathy Murray. Bill Nelson probed and found the nest about 300 yards north of boardwalk #7.
Ron & Kathy Chamberlain and Nancy Shenton reported the first hatchling of 2016 emerging from nest #1 near the vehicle entrance on zone 1.
Nest #48
Joshua and Amanda Shilko found the crawl in the protected bird area on Zone 4. Jen Gibson Probed and found nest #48. With Josh & Amanda.s help, the 123 eggs were relocated to higher ground just south of the second dog sign.
Nest #47
The crawl for nest #47 was found on zone 1 by Jacquie DePalma, Catherine Scully, Sara Klauber and Jacquie's Granddaughter, Audrey Sanderson. Bill Greubel probed and found the nest which was relocated to higher ground near the last trash can. There were 93 eggs.
Nests 44, 45 & 46
It was a busy day with 4 false crawls and 3 nests. Nest #44 walkers Anne Snelgrove, Melanie Jerome & Gayle Evans found the crawl on Zone 1 in front of the Pelican Watch Villas and Bill & Eileen Middleton probed and found the nest. It was left in situ.The same crew found nest #45 in front of the boats at Camp St. Christopher. The 115 eggs were relocated higher on the beach.
The crawl for nest #46 was found by walkers Deb Wiehn & Christine Miniman on zone 3 about 200 yards north of boardwalk #6. Judy Morr probed and found the nest. The 94 eggs were moved to a safer location 20 yards south of boardwalk #4.
