Nest 11 will be inventoried at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, August 1st. The nest is located south of boardwalk 6 and was found by Chris Czander, Sue Glover & Sarah Quinn.
Nests 29 & 30!
Kim Neath called in first with a crawl about 100 yards north of Boardwalk 1. Bill and Linda Nelson responded and found nest number 29 with 60 eggs. The nest was close to the water and therefore was moved about 100 yards up the beach to a safer location. Kim, Linda and Gary Holtz handled the nest move.
Catherine Scully, Rob Jerome, Mike Vinson and Gary Holtz then called with a crawl 200 yards south of Boardwalk 2, into the myrtles. After probing and re-probing all of the likely spots including several excavations, Bill finally located nest 30 with 92 eggs. The nest was relocated to about 15 yards south of Boardwalk 1. Rob Jerome and Gary Holtz handled the relocation of the eggs and buttoned up the new nest site.

Nest 4 was found by Ruth Ann Henderer, Kathy Chamberlain, Kathy Francis and Pat & Valerie Luzadder . The nest was left in situ. Earlier predation by raccoons resulted in the loss of 30 eggs . It hatched in 58 days.

Nest 6 was found by Martha Goldstein, Bill & Linda Nelson and Mary Zamora. The nest had 112 eggs, 3 were broken inside the nest and 2 were reported predated by crabs. It hatched in 54 days. There were 2 crab holes near the bottom of the nest. The 13 egg difference is attributed to additional crab predation.

Nest 28
Chris Palmer and Gayle Evans had a great morning! Chris called to report that he and Gayle found a crawl in to the wrack by the boat house in front of the Camp. Bill Middleton and Judy Morr responded and found the eggs hidden underneath the wrack. Gayle and Chris moved the 75 eggs for Nest 28 about 15 yards further back at the north end of the boat house. This is Chris’s for nest ever and Gayle ‘s first of the year.
