Nest 90

Pat & Valerie Luzadder called in an apparent wild nest located 100 yards short of the point. They found 5 live hatchlings, 9 dead hatchlings and 44 broken shells in an area away from any previously identified nests. Judy Morr and Terry Fansler evaluated the nest which had been predated by raccoons and decided to relocate the remaining eggs to give them a chance to hatch without further raccoon predation. It turns out that the nest matches a false crawl reported on June 19th. It is likely that the raccoon found the nest when it began to hatch.

We will inventory Nest 48, located between boardwalks 6 & 7 at 8 AM on Tuesday, August 6th.. This nest was found by Paula Baram, Brad Mastellar, Charlie Faught, and Heather Fife.

Nest 89

Rachel Carter called in to report "the craziest crawl I have ever seen between boardwalks 2 & 3." Bill and Eileen Middleton happily went to probe and after investigating her winding tracks found Nest 89. (It has been 2 weeks since we identified Nests 87 & 88.) They left the nest in situ as it is well above the high tide line. The Walkers this morning were Rachel and Marshall Carter with daughters Nettie and Neva, Lisa Hand and Gloria Wilson - Carter's neighbor.
