On a stormy Monday, it was another tough night for our remaining nests. Our brave walkers battled the rain and the tides to check them out.
Zone 1 - The one remaining nest looked fine.
Zone 2 - (requested Sandy as First Responder take equipment out between storms)
- Nest #60 which we inventory on Tuesday had a hole
- Nest #68 (in front of Bob Mason's house) which previously had 3 poles is now missing all of the poles
- Nest #56 (in front of second house past the club) - the pole couldn't be read but more importantly couldn't even find the screen.
Zone 3 - Nests 54, 55 and 64 were still in place but, all had been washed over. #64 has a thick layer of sand on top. Mike will remove excess sand once system passes.
Zone 4 - Nest #65 was washed over; Karen removed the accumulated rack.
- Nest #66 was washed over; Karen removed the accumulated rack but will need a shovel to remove sand accumulation.

Morning all,
The high tides did a job on our nests last night. From the reports from all the zones it looks like almost all of the remaining nests were over washed. The worst was nest # 63 up on that high dune. The dune collapsed and the eggs were exposed. Jen and Harvey with the Doanes and Liz Devens moved the 56 remaining eggs to south of walkway # 5. They were wading through the water the whole time.
We expect to have another bad tide tonight then it starts to go down. Hope the nests can take it.

We will inventory nest # 51 in Zone 1 (beach walkway #9 and to the right toward Camp St. Christopher) at 8am on Thursday. This nest was found by Anne Snelgrove and Monica Adams 100 yards north of the first flag at the camp in zone 1. Bill Middleton found the eggs. Following nest #51, we will re-visit # 49. Then, if we have more activity at nest # 41, we will go to zone 3 to # 41, which is 200 yards south of walk # 1. It was found by Tim Morawski.
Beach report – No new activity. A man saw a mama turtle on the beach Monday morning going back into the water near be Beach Club Villas. Terry, Sandy and Rob Jerome and I walked the area yesterday after the inventories but found nothing.
We inventoried nests # 45 and 49 yesterday and we had to close # 49 because the hatchlings were not ready. We will revisit # 49 on Thursday.
